I'm probably overthinking all this because of the deepness going on in the "what does Jeeves symbolize" thread, but I'm curious: this whole bit about "it occurred to me for the first time in my entire life that not everyone has a servant" - do you guys read that literally, like he's actually so ignorant about the world/in that much of an isolated bubble? Or is he just being hyperbolic and self-awarely mocking himself for having such a melodramatic reaction? Because I feel like there are huge implications for his level of intelligence depending on the answer. If it's supposed to be a genuine realization, this reads to me as very cutting satire about the rich being so out-of-touch that they're practically sociopaths. If not, it's more of just a silly and sweet tribute to his affection for Jeeves.
