My instinct says that if you know enough about the fandom to consider yourself a fan, then you must automatically know enough to write! But I agree with cuddyclothes that reading a few short stories and watching a few episodes if you haven't already will be a big help.

I also have turned to Wikipedia a lot to learn more about Wodehouse and get an overview of the characters and canon.

If you're worried about your English, you can give it to a beta to look over...although I'm not sure how you'd do that with everyone being anonymous.
