I like the idea of them both switching. Although somehow I think Bertie might have some trouble taking it completely seriously. I have an image of him saying, "Jeeves, what say we make our safe word 'radish'?"
Jeeves is capable of such coldness, at least in my mind but he also can be extremely warm.
I don't even know what I'm saying. Somebody besides me needs to write this kind of fic and let me enjoy without thinking too much.
I always go back and forth on whether I want to write the sex as silly and goofy enough to at least keep it vaguely Wodehousey or just drop the canon style and make it dark and serious enough to accommodate porn/BDSM. Weirdly enough I generally find it easier to do the latter. They definitely both have their merits though.
Reading some fics and watching some old movies, I found myself wondering: do people automatically start the tongue action on practically the first kiss? Is it inevitable? Or do people keep their mouths more or less shut for a while or maybe even for the first make-out session?
In old movies they were not allowed to french kiss, so even when there was ardent kissing mouths stayed closed. Is this at all realistic? Does it matter? Would you have a problem writing a kissing scene without tongues? I'm pondering writing one. But I've been kissing the same person for years.
In my case all of my first French kisses with someone new happened during the first kissing session with them. There was never this requesting-for-admission-lip-licking thing that I so often read about in fics. When one went for it, the other's lips were always parted already. No matter what gender or gender identification by the way. Nevertheless I would have no problem at all if someone didn't want that during the first time or even ever at all. I know some friends have similar and some friends have very different kissing experiences and kissing preferences. It's such an individual thing really. So I don't think anyone could actually write an unrealistic kissing scene. I'm okay with writing kissing without tongues and I enjoy reading kissing without tongues no less than with tongues.
I agree with the other poster that preferences are so individual that almost nothing is unrealistic. Then again, realistic is one thing, but realistic AND hot is another!
In my personal experience, there tend to be more like three stages: closed mouth, then open mouth, then tongues. Just staying at stage 1 for any extended period of time sounds awkward to me. All my first kisses with someone new reach at least stage 2. More intense ones reach stage 3. I really dislike when people use too much tongue or use their tongue weirdly. I rarely describe much about the tongues when I write kisses because even mentioning them gives me a mental image of someone using way too much awkward jabby tongue, unless the author is careful to describe it right.
I kissed someone new last night and they used too much tongue and it was not great!
I'm so picky about fics because I want them to be very realistic but also better than realism at the same time. The best possible version of reality, I guess? Because all my favorite fics have some distinct element of imperfection/idiosyncrasy. There needs to be fumbling or awkwardness or apprehension or miscommunication or something. Or a character has a strange quirk or kink that's weird but somehow still hot. I want it to be like really good low-budget amateur porn, not glossy overdone pro studio porn. It takes me out of the story when the characters are all impossibly fit with gigantic cocks that get instantly hard and the sex is always the pinnacle of perfection.
I was responding to the headcanon question and thought about some tropes in J&W kissing and sex scenes.
Bertie musses Jeeves's hair and sometimes it gets wavy or curly. Or it just gets mussed.
Here's the thing. When you look at men wearing brilliantine/hair creme/pomade in movies of the time, that shit ain't moving. And if it does, it's in sticky straight strands. The stickiness was probably okay for people at the time since it was standard. Once I went to a costume party with a date who used pomade on his hair--we had to buy Prell (the shampoo most like dishwashing detergent) and shampoo his hair daily for almost a week to get the stuff out!
Probably nobody actually wants that kind of realism but I can't help thinking about it when Bertie musses Jeeves's hair into wild curls.

Personally I'm a fan of big cocks but the instant hardness is something to ponder. Especially if the man is older, or nervous.
One story I'm doodling on off to one side has Jeeves upset and so he's flaccid. It takes a fair amount of hand work from Bertie to get it hard. Because that happens and I find it hot.
Interesting! But yes you're right, mussed curls are so much cuter and otherwise plausible, so this is one place where I'm happy to let realism take a hike. :-)
I had a dream about hanging with Hugh Laurie some time ago and it was a good dream but well... I would have rather donated the dream to a Laurie lover. Then I had one dream about seeing Stephen Fry live at some event. That was a nice dream. But last night I got really lucky. I had my first dream featuring Jeeves characters! It was from Bertie's POV. Jeeves (who looked dashed sexy by the way) tried to teach Bertie how to set the table for breakfast.
Last night I had my first Wooster dream. I was in an awful stage production of a Jeeves play, and I was playing Bertie. It was horrifically unfunny, so I started improvising. One of the other Drones was showing me a gun and bullets, and I spilled bullets on the flor, which got a laugh, and then proceeded to crawl around on the floor picking them up. Jeeves was barely in it at all (I think in the dream he was Martin Jarvis).
Then PGW was there, not happy at all. So I took him to see the house I grew up in and our farm, especially the Holstein cows. (Actually it wasn't the house I grew up, neither did we have a farm. Make of it what you will.)
I'm jealous of both of y'all! I've been reading or writing J&W nearly every night before bed and yet I've had maybe like one related dream that I don't even remember. I don't understand, why won't my subconscious just do me this one small favor?
I had a weird dream after thinking about the piss play prompt. And of course I did not get to see any of the characters but some random, unknown people piss playing in public.
