I am moderately embarrassed to admit that I get fashion inspiration from J&W sometimes. I'm a young American woman who occasionally dresses like an old British man. I just love dapper menswear and tweed and sock garters and stuff. It wouldn't be so bad if I just had a consistent vintage style or were a proper legit cosplayer, the problem is, my wardrobe is a hot mess. I don't care enough to do my research so it's just a mishmash of old-timey clothes from different eras and styles. 😂

I think having a mixture-style is quite all right!
My brother e.g. has the most amazing mixture of Gopnik/Gatsby, and looks really cool (most of the time).
I also have a lot of different items, mostly vintage (incl. a number of hand-me-downs from my brother-in-law to my great-uncle).
Anything is better than another Hollister-zombie...
(I don‘t know if Hollister is hip over the Bog Pond, here it is:))

TIL about gopniki! That sounds like an incredible style. It's definitely possible to pull off a mishmash, and sometimes I think I do, but sometimes I just end up looking confused and/or pretentious. Hollister was hip here at some point, but I couldn't tell you if it still is because I don't know any teenagers.
