OH MY GOSH! I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING! Brilliant, simply brilliant! I'm totally gonna learn this on my ukulele. You know, in case I ever meet Mr Fry ;) (okay but the part where she says "my boyfriend approves and he'd like to help you out" OH MY GOD I LAUGHED SO HARD)
I showed my spouse "Let The Kinkiness Begin!" post. He was glad to know what it was! He's not into this stuff at all but he's cool about me writing fanfic porn. We just agree not to talk about it.
A personal question for all you omorashi fans! Do you tend to write and/or read these stories while you yourself have a full bladder? Or is that just me?
There's a video somewhere of Stephen in a bathtub, I think for a charitable cause. Does anyone know where that is? I've tried googling and Youtube search but "Stephen Fry in bathtub" and "Stephen Fry naked" aren't producing the desired results. Desirable results, yes, but not desired.
Would anyone like to (anonymously) share their kink? I’m quite interested in the topic, because I didn’t fully realise that there are kinks like omorashi before it was mentioned here.
I don’t really have a kink to be honest, except chest hair, if that counts? And Jooster of course :)
thesadchicken unearthed this video! It's a large array of British comedy stars, including Spike Milligan and Stephen naked in a bathtub. The fellow starting and ending the story is Ronnie Corbett. Quite a few of the comics are "blink and you'll miss them", including Stephen. Still here it is!
I was reading over the many phenomenal fills in the kinkiness thread, and I found myself asking: Jeeves has an interesting place in fan's psychology. Anyone care to talk about this?
Well, to be honest, I rather identify myself with Jeeves, not in a sensual way though. It‘s only that I‘m getting called „a living dictionary“ by my friends (but in a negative tone) and the first time I read the Jeeves-stories it gave me a really good feeling, like there‘re other people like me out there.
Sorry for the lines across the bottom - it was where the vid was paused for the screenshots. This is from a video called "Comedy Trail: Shaggy Dog Story", starring dozens of comedians, each on for a fraction of a second.
Yeeeeey! Okay so I'm going back to the "person" vs. "concept" structure that I did for Jeeves.
1. Bertie the person: Ah, Bertie. My sweet, kindhearted, sunshine boy. I'm very fond of this idiot. Like I said in the Jeeves post, I'm not gonna analyze him as a person, but I just want everyone to know that I love him just as much as I love my Jeeves hehe
2. Bertie the concept: Again, this is all very personal of course:
- Bertie is a member of the aristocracy, but I wouldn't call him an aristocrat. He certainly is rich, and idle, but he doesn't seem to care much about social status and rank. He does, however, have morals and a strict code that he tries his best to keep. He wants to be a preux chevalier, to honor the Code of the Woosters - in short, to be what he deems a good person. Other than that, he doesn't seem to give a fudge about his social status. This means that he doesn't look at Jeeves as his servant, but as an equal. Oh of course he pays Jeeves to take care of him, cook and clean and bathe and dress him, but that is simply how Bertie is used to being treated. But in all other aspects, he treats Jeeves more like he'd treat a friend. In fact, it's Jeeves that insists on all the formality. - Bertie is naturally cheerful and careless, and even though he whines a lot, his bad mood never last very long. There's a scene in "Jeeves & Wooster" that really highlights this aspect of Bertie in my opinion: when he sings "Sunny Disposish" and then explains to Jeeves that he loves the song and it speaks to him because of its "philosophy". Yes alright it's funny because the song is kinda dumb and all that, but if you think of it... it actually is a nice philosophy to live by, isn't it? Hakuna Matata! - Bertie is kind. No matter how much he whines about it, he always ends up helping his friends and relatives, always. He gives them money, time, effort - he even risks his life for them on one or two occassions! It breaks my heart that his unwavering kindness is exploited and that everyone takes him for granted and treats him like a total fool :( - Bertie is lazy. So very lazy. Idle is a pretty word, but let's be honest, the boy is lazy. He doesn't seem to mind that he has absolutely nothing to do, he actually prefers it and recoils from any sort of activity that requires effort or commitment.
So basically to me Bertie symbolizes:
- Benevolence - Innoncence - Joyfulness - Youth
There is however something a bit tragic about Bertie Wooster, just below the surface. He's an orphan, his friends and family treat him like less than nothing; and yet he's still cheerful, still friendly, still kind. It's like there's some sort of untouchable purity to him - he could have been an angel, if only he weren't lazy and whiny and a little petty (which is better, if you ask me: Pure Good is so boring).
What I want to say by all this is that Bertie desperately needs a friend, a true friend. In my opinion he found that friend the day he heard the words "I was sent by the agency, sir. I was given to understand that you required a valet."
(oh dear, this is awfully long and yet I haven't said all I wanted to say. Oh, well! haha)
I know that there already was a similar question, but I‘d like to ask nevertheless: What other characters from the series do you think attractive? I myself always loved Barmy and still kind of fancy Martin Clunes...
In the series I always found Pauline Stoker incredibly attractive. And Honoria Glossop: athletic AND a bookworm - yummy! I also have a thing for the Wooster twins? And season 1/2 Bingo has a charming smile.
Speculative prompt for y'all about Jeeves and Bertie! In your mind, who is the dominant one and who is the submissive one, in terms of sexual dynamics/BDSM roles? I constantly go back and forth and I've written them both ways.
On one hand, Bertie is literally the master, and Jeeves is into being "the perfect servant," so it's easy to argue that if things turned sexual between them, that dynamic would remain. On the other hand, Jeeves is of course very domineering in terms of enforcing his preferences and is the "brains of the operation," the "puppet-master," so to speak. An argument could be made either way based on their personalities, too: Jeeves is more ascetic/masochistic and Bertie is more hedonistic/self-indulgent; however, Jeeves is also more stubborn and self-possessed and Bertie is more timid and compliant. Physically, it's still a wash: I think of Jeeves as larger but Bertie as more athletic.
Personally, I think if I had to choose, I would lean toward Bertie as dominant and Jeeves as submissive, because I like the realness of exploiting/exaggerating the actual dynamics that exist between them, especially enforced due to their class/status difference. I'm glad I don't actually have to choose though!
Obviously there's no final official answer, just wondering how you guys conceive of all this.
Reading some fics and watching some old movies, I found myself wondering: do people automatically start the tongue action on practically the first kiss? Is it inevitable? Or do people keep their mouths more or less shut for a while or maybe even for the first make-out session?
In old movies they were not allowed to french kiss, so even when there was ardent kissing mouths stayed closed. Is this at all realistic? Does it matter? Would you have a problem writing a kissing scene without tongues? I'm pondering writing one. But I've been kissing the same person for years.
I agree with the other poster that preferences are so individual that almost nothing is unrealistic. Then again, realistic is one thing, but realistic AND hot is another!
In my personal experience, there tend to be more like three stages: closed mouth, then open mouth, then tongues. Just staying at stage 1 for any extended period of time sounds awkward to me. All my first kisses with someone new reach at least stage 2. More intense ones reach stage 3. I really dislike when people use too much tongue or use their tongue weirdly. I rarely describe much about the tongues when I write kisses because even mentioning them gives me a mental image of someone using way too much awkward jabby tongue, unless the author is careful to describe it right.
I kissed someone new last night and they used too much tongue and it was not great!
In my case all of my first French kisses with someone new happened during the first kissing session with them. There was never this requesting-for-admission-lip-licking thing that I so often read about in fics. When one went for it, the other's lips were always parted already. No matter what gender or gender identification by the way. Nevertheless I would have no problem at all if someone didn't want that during the first time or even ever at all. I know some friends have similar and some friends have very different kissing experiences and kissing preferences. It's such an individual thing really. So I don't think anyone could actually write an unrealistic kissing scene. I'm okay with writing kissing without tongues and I enjoy reading kissing without tongues no less than with tongues.

Gussie: Kiss on the cheek should do the trick.
Honoria: None.
Madeline: None, please!

Other Jeeves & Wooster characters
(Anonymous) 2019-06-20 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)What other characters from the series do you think attractive? I myself always loved Barmy and still kind of fancy Martin Clunes...

I also have a thing for the Wooster twins? And season 1/2 Bingo has a charming smile.

(Anonymous) - 2019-06-21 12:33 (UTC) - ExpandWho's dominant/who's submissive?
(Anonymous) 2019-07-02 01:46 am (UTC)(link)On one hand, Bertie is literally the master, and Jeeves is into being "the perfect servant," so it's easy to argue that if things turned sexual between them, that dynamic would remain.

(Anonymous) - 2019-08-12 10:21 (UTC) - ExpandKissing Etc.
(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)In old movies they were not allowed to french kiss, so even when there was ardent kissing mouths stayed closed. Is this at all realistic? Does it matter? Would you have a problem writing a kissing scene without tongues? I'm pondering writing one. But I've been kissing the same person for years.
Re: Kissing Etc.
(Anonymous) 2019-07-08 03:33 am (UTC)(link)In my personal experience, there tend to be more like three stages: closed mouth, then open mouth, then tongues.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)Nevertheless I would have no problem at all if someone didn't want that during the first time or even ever at all.
