I have a question which is probably stupid and embarrassing, but well, this is a safe space, isn‘t it?
In this fill, Bertie thanks Jeeves after they had sex and I have read this in several English novels and also in fanfiction, so I‘m wondering if it‘s some sort of an English tradition, because I have never heard of this (or experienced it) in my country.
I think it‘s weird, as if the partner was a prostitute or sth.

I'm American and I often thank my partner for sex. In this case, Bertie is thanking Jeeves for letting Bertie ravish him in the potting shed.

I'm neither English nor American, but I do like to thank my partner for sex. I don't think it's a "tradition" (although I could be wrong: like I said, I'm not English), I think it's just a feeling that some people want to express. Personally, I don't think it alludes to prostitution, it's just a feeling of gratitude and satisfaction - your partner makes you feel good, so you thank them for it.

(sometimes though I feel it can be a bit kinky? like thanking your partner for spanking you or something like that)

That being said, I understand that this could be seen differently, depending on the country/culture.

I love making fun of my country ;)

I'm neither British nor American, have never been thanked for sex, nor thanked someone for sex. I would not mind though but I guess the sex was never as good as in fanfics where thanking for sex seems to be quite common and understandable. I would totally thank someone for a fuck if it felt like a fic. ;) And I think thanking for a good fic is in a way a bit like thanking for sex.
