I read the side discussion about Ganymede in the kinkiness thread and I would like to add that sometimes servants were refered to as Ganymedes because of Ganymede's role as cupbearer.

There's a lovely fic by Not_You on AO3 about Bertie being the descendant of Cupid and Jeeves being the descendant of Ganymede. "Of Silver Cups And Golden Arrows".

The cupbearer, yes, but it's still hilarious to pick out that one aspect and ignore the whole homo-erotic rest of Ganymede's story.
I bet Jeeves knows all about it and is also well aware of the ambiguous word play going on with Ganymede's name.
I want a fic where Jeeves has to explain all that to Bertie. 😉

You could listen to the Ganymede part of Stephen Fry's Mythos and imagine it's Jeeves talking to Bertie. ;)
