How is everyone doing, dealing with the pandemic? We have an international membership so presumably people are affected by it all over the world. Your faithful mod is in New York City, which is now considered the epicenter of the virus. Everything "non-essential" is closed. I'll look up essential services later. We're suffering from a terrible lack of beds and hospital equipment. And the POS covered in orange greasepaint is only making things worse.
How are you coping? I've gone past "staring at the TV dumbly" to "wandering around the apartment, looking out the window, stunned". We can still get takeout, so there's that.
Bear in mind you can respond to this post anonymously, whether you're a member or not.

Date: 2020-03-27 10:35 pm (UTC)My husband has been working from home for the past two weeks, and has now been cut down to work 4 days per week at a 20% pay cut. I have been cut down to working 3 days per week, but am going to get paid as if I worked 5, so I feel incredibly lucky. And even on the days I do go to work they're cutting out as many as possible to go home early.
For my husband and I, we're pretty much hermits anyway - we never go out to eat or to shows, I generally only shop once per week, we don't visit friends very often. We have friends over once a month, but last time we did that via Zoom. It's working out pretty easy for us. I've actually had to shop more often because of all the things not available, so that's annoying.
I was also slightly annoyed to see a lot of Massachusetts and New Hampshire license plates when I was driving home, today. All the summer complaints are headed up to camp early. But if they feel safer here, well, they may be.
